The Grill From Ipanema brings a taste of Brazil to the heart of Washington, DC, serving authentic Brazilian cuisine since 1992. As a family-owned and operated restaurant, we are dedicated to providing an exceptional culinary experience infused with the warmth of Brazilian hospitality.
Brazilian cuisine is deeply rooted in the traditions of Indigenous peoples and shaped by immigrants from Africa, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Each dish we serve carries a piece of that history and culture. Our mission is to ensure that every guest enjoys the authentic flavors of Brazil, showcasing the diverse culinary traditions and regions of our country.
ALCYDE SOUZA
Chef
Alcy De Souza discovered his passion for cooking at an early age, helping his mother prepare meals for his younger siblings. His love for the kitchen never waned, and over the years, he went on to open several successful restaurants in Brazil. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a vision of bringing authentic Brazilian cuisine to the U.S., Alcy moved to the United States in 1987 to pursue his American dream.
At The Grill From Ipanema, Alcy found the perfect opportunity to create a traditional Brazilian restaurant in the heart of Washington, D.C. Committed to staying true to the roots of Brazilian cuisine, he crafted a menu that showcases iconic dishes such as Feijoada, Moqueca à Baiana, Picanha, and Bobó de Camarão, offering guests a genuine taste of Brazil.
